This morning as I was walking into Starbucks (a.k.a. The Happiest Place On Earth) two women were walking out, hands full with cups. I held the door open (the polite thing to do, right?) and they walked through without so much as a head nod to acknowledge me. I didn’t do it for the thanks, but c’mon. Not to be a curmudgeon, but what happened to basic manners? Saying “Please” and “Thank you” are simple phrases that offer just a little bit of respect for other people. Is it just me or does it seem that etiquette is becoming more archaic in this age of “It’s All About Me?”
